While you can pay for your yacht charter reservation with a credit card, once you're on your catamaran cruise, you'll need to rely on cash.

Currency: If you're coming from the United States or any country using USD, you won’t need to exchange money since the dollar is legal tender in Panama. It’s commonly used in everyday transactions and can be spent freely in San Blas.

However, if you have euros, be aware that this currency is rarely accepted, and if it is, the exchange rate applied will be approximately 1 USD = 1 Euro, resulting in a significant loss for you.

Exchanging Currency: Changing other foreign currencies can be challenging in Panama. You can exchange money at Banco Nacional, but it may be out of your way. Alternatively, you can exchange currency at Tocumen International Airport.

Cash Recommendations: Remember to bring cash to San Blas, but don’t overdo it. On Your Side:

Cancellations due to our circumstances are extremely rare. In the unlikely event of a technical failure with your assigned catamaran, we will upgrade you at no extra cost. If we need to offer you a smaller catamaran, we will adjust the price accordingly.

Force Majeure:
San Blas is not prone to hurricanes, making it a year-round sailing destination. You can put your mind at ease regarding cancellations due to tropical storms or hurricanes, as these events are simply not a concern here. Why are your catamarans not close to the shore and the port?

If you come by road, the transfer company will drop you off at one of the ports of Carti which is one of the ports at San Blas.
 
Reaching the port by boat is not feasible due to the extremely shallow waters caused by nearby rivers. Additionally, meeting the catamaran close to shore is not ideal; the muddy waters and landscape near the coast differ significantly from the beautiful outer cays we prefer you to visit.
 
It's highly advisable to have the catamaran stay at Cayo Limon, providing a pleasant start and the opportunity for a quick snorkel at the nearby reef. From Cayo Limon, it's only a short one-hour sail to the Dutch Cays. In contrast, if we picked you up from Carti port, it would add approximately three more hours to reach the Dutch Cays, which is not ideal.
 
Flying in offers a whole different experience. You'll land right next to the catamaran, and it's just a 45-minute sail to the stunning Coco Bandero.

1. Internet Roaming: If your phone is set up for it, you can use roaming in San Blas. Be sure to check with your home operator for roaming rates.
2. Tigo SIM Card: The best option is to purchase a Tigo SIM card and top it up with an internet plan once you’re in Panama. It’s extremely affordable, and you can have full internet access for just a few dollars. SIM cards are readily available at convenient shops in Panama City, but avoid buying them at the airport, as prices are inflated there.

Keep in mind that internet and cellular coverage in the San Blas islands can be spotty, with limited antennas serving the Guna Yala region. Some areas may have intermittent connectivity, so we encourage you to relax and enjoy the stunning views!

San Blas is the premier sailing destination in the Caribbean, primarily due to its seclusion and detachment from the outside world. This remoteness comes with unique aspects that you should be aware of.

The region lacks repair facilities, proper refueling stations, provisions, and overall infrastructure. Occasionally, technical issues may arise, requiring a sail to the nearest marina, which is 40 miles away from San Blas. If your catamaran encounters a technical problem, we will promptly provide you with another catamaran from our fleet.

If the new catamaran provided is more expensive than your original reservation, there will be no additional charges. Conversely, if the substitute catamaran is less expensive, we will refund you the difference.

We do not cancel charters due to technical issues, as we have alternative options available being an agency rather than a sole operator.

We firmly believe that air transfers offer a significant advantage over road transfers when entering the San Blas islands. Here’s why:

- Timing: If you choose a road transfer, your pickup from the hotel will be around 5:00 AM. For air travel, you'll need to arrive at the Albrook local terminal in Panama City around 8:00-9:00-10:00 AM, depending on your flight time. We can be flexible with your landing time—just ask us!

- Travel Experience: Road transfers take you to the port of San Blas, from where it’s at least a 40-minute water taxi ride to the catamaran. This ride can be longer if sea conditions are unfavorable. In contrast, if you fly in, you’ll land just 40 minutes later in the most idyllic part of San Blas, near Cayo Coco Bandero and other uncrowded spots. A quick 2-minute water taxi will take you directly to your catamaran, which will be docked right next to the airstrip.

- Fly in to Avoid Road Chaos: Road travel can test your patience, but flying offers a hassle-free experience with no airport queues.

- Experience Scenic Flights: A 40-minute flight over the jungle and stunning cays is far more captivating than the nearly 4-hour journey (road plus water taxi) to reach your catamaran. We fully support both travel options and will assist you with the booking process for your preferred transfer method. However, we encourage you to consider flying as your top choice. There are limited flights into San Blas, so booking in advance is wise.

For guests coming in by air transfer, the catamaran will be located right next to the air strip. You will easily board the catamaran with a 2 minute water taxi ride and start your cruise. The famous and stunning Cayo Coco Bandero is an easy 30 minute sail.
 
For guests coming in by road transfer from Panama City, arrival is at Carti, the port of San Blas, there you will board the water taxi appointed by the transfer company. It is around a 40 minute water taxi transfer to the catamaran which will be anchored in Cayo Limon or any of the islands that compose the stunning Dutch Cays.
 
The exact location of the catamaran varies depending on the wind direction and sea state.
