When to Visit

San Blas is truly a year-round destination, with each season offering its own unique magic.

High Season:

Mid-November to late April — dry, warm, and ideal for sailing (77–82 °F / 25–28 °C)

Low Season:

May to early November — empty anchorages, calm seas, and occasional showers (27–31 °C)

No matter when you choose to visit, San Blas promises unforgettable beauty and tranquility.

Choose Your Perfect San Blas Itinerary

We recommend a minimum of 5 nights to fully soak in the magic of San Blas—each day reveals more of its raw, breathtaking beauty. With over 365 islands, every anchorage feels like a new discovery.

Our curated itineraries focus on the most secluded spots—like Coco Bandero, Cambombia, and the Dutch Cays—where you’ll snorkel vibrant reefs, paddle calm lagoons, and unwind on pristine beaches.

The longer you stay, the deeper the experience. Spend time in the Dutch Cays connecting with Guna culture through our deckhand José’s traditional Guna family—share a traditional BBQ on their private island, then unwind in “The Pool,” a serene natural saltwater infinity pool.

Choose the itinerary that suits your pace, and we’ll handle the rest.

Pro Tips Before Booking

  • Book early: Peak season (Dec–Apr) fills quickly, especially during holidays.

  • Choose wisely: Pick a top-rated, Guna-registered charter with 5-star reviews, clear policies, and a focus on secluded islands—not crowded mainland spots. When researching, prioritize real, verified reviews and avoid self-made or fake ones.

  • Know what’s included: Confirm meals, drinks, fuel, and water toys are covered. Extras not included: Guna fees, transfers, molas, or bar drinks.

  • Pack light: Bring beach essentials—swimwear, reef-safe sunscreen, light clothes, hat, sandals, and a sweatshirt. Avoid bulky bags; private flights have luggage limits. See our full packing list [here].

  • Carry cash: Bring about $300 USD in small bills for island fees, tips, and extras. Note that credit card payments are not accepted in San Blas. There are no banks or ATMs, and neither the catamarans nor the limited bars onshore have card payment terminals. Although you can use a credit card to book your yacht charter, once you’re on the catamaran, you'll need to rely on cash.

  • Tipping Etiquette: Tips of 5–15% of the charter cost are customary for excellent service. Give directly in cash to crew or through us for secure delivery.
